Description - This is a trailing plant, with slender branches, growing in sandy or dry soil in the northeastern and middle parts of the United States. The stems are armed with stout recurved prickles. Flowers white, about one inch broad. Fruit black, pulpy and delicious to eat, much used for making wine and brandy.
