Native to China, jasmine was introduced to Europe by the Spanish Moors. Its name is derived from Persian, yasmin. It is a small, climbing evergreen with delicate white flowers, which are picked at night for optimal fragrance. An experienced worker can pick over 10,000 blossoms per evening!
