What on Earth is Earthing?
March 21, 2019
If you’ve walked barefoot in the park and felt better, you’ve experienced earthing firsthand. The science behind it is a bit more complicated having to do with electrons. The theory is that the earth has a slightly negative charge to it; our bodies a slightly positive charge. Direct, uninterrupted contact with the earth can even out this positive charge, putting your body into a neutral, re-balanced and healthier state.
What are the Benefits of Earthing?
Earthing proponents claim it helps:
- Blood pressure
- Muscle fatigue
- Burnout
- Circulation
- Adrenal health
- Mood
- Energy
- Relaxation
- Vitality
- Sleep
- Tension
- Cardiovascular health
Does Earthing Work?
Try it for yourself. Stand, sit or walk with your bare feet in the grass, sand or dirt for about 30 minutes. Then compare your level of comfort at the start and at the end. You’ll probably feel good, more comfortable, happier, lighter. Whatever the reason – the Earth’s electrons, connecting with Mother Nature, or just being away from work for a while – a barefoot walk in the park is never a bad thing.
